Today’s Austin Texas Mortgage Refinance Rates | Current Austin Mortgage Rates | Refinance  Tx | Jumbo Rates Tx

I’m not trying to start any rumors but it seems ever since the Pope’s US visit Texas mortgage rates have gone up.  Hmmm….  About .125 each day since mid-last week.

I made a few calls to the Vatican about this and I got the typical “no comment” reply.  Then they asked if I offered Home Equity Loans on “Church Properties.”  I said no.  

Today’s 30 year rate is bouncing between 6.00-6.25%, however the average “contracted rate is around 6.5%.    What is the average contracted rate?  This is the actual mortgage rate most people get–or contract with their bank or broker.  If you don’t have a 680 credit score and don’t have 10% to put down, expect slightly higher mortgage rates. 

Today’s 15 year rate is lower, 5.875% and today’s Texas jumbo mortgage rate is 7.5%.    So naturally we want to do an 80/10 or 80/15 to avoid jumbo rates.    Please call me at 512-996-8194 so we can talk about your mortgage or refinance.
